The Roman Curia is a group of offices.

These offices help the Holy See. The Holy See is the central body of the Catholic Church. Some people call this group the Vatican Curia. However, that name is not quite right. The Curia is actually for the Holy See. It helps the Pope do his work. It also helps the bishops in the Church.

Think of the Curia like a government cabinet. It has different parts to do different jobs. One very old part is the Secretariat of State. This part helps the Pope with his main mission. It has three main sections. One section deals with daily service for the Pope. Another section works with other countries. This part handles diplomatic relations. The third section helps the people who work for the Church in other lands.

There is also a Central Statistics Office. This office does many studies. It makes a big book called the Statistical Yearbook of the Church. This book tracks many things about the Church. Pope Francis set the rules for how the Curia works. He issued a new law in 2022 to guide them.
