He uses his voice to bring many different characters to life. Instead of using his whole body, he uses sounds to show emotion. He can sound funny, brave, or even silly. He also works as a voice director. This means he helps other actors find the right sounds for their parts. His work makes cartoons and movies feel real and exciting for people to watch.

Paulsen has played many characters that people recognize instantly. He is well known for voicing Yakko and Pinky in the Animaniacs series. For these roles, he won three Annie Awards, which are special prizes for animation. He also voiced Raphael in the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. He grew up in a place called Grand Blanc. As a young boy, he did not plan to be an actor. He actually wanted to be a professional ice hockey player in the NHL. He spent his youth singing in choirs and acting in school plays. In 1978, he moved to Los Angeles to follow his dream of acting. This was a big change from his life in Michigan.

Many people might not realize that one person can sound like many people. Paulsen shows us how much variety a single voice can have. He can play a small mouse or a large robot. He can be a hero or a villain in the same week. His work connects many different types of stories together. Whether it is a cartoon, a video game, or a commercial, his voice is part of the fun. He continues to work in the industry today.
