Many people speak a special kind of Spanish. It is called Rioplatense Spanish.

This way of talking is found near the Río de la Plata. Most people in Argentina and Uruguay use it. It is also spoken in parts of Paraguay and Bolivia.

This Spanish sounds unique. It has a rhythm like Italian languages. This happened because many people moved there from Italy long ago. They brought their own way of speaking with them. This led to new words called lunfardo.

Some words also come from native groups. For example, the word for popcorn can come from the Quechua or Guaraní languages.

One big difference is how people say "you." In many places, people say "tú." In Rioplatense Spanish, people use the word "vos." This is called voseo. It is a normal way to speak there. It even changes how verbs are used. For example, instead of saying "tú cantas," they say "vos cantás." This makes the sound of the word change slightly. It is a proud part of their culture.
