Each team has nine players on the court. These players are split into three different groups. There are three goal shooters, three centre players, and three defenders. Each group stays in its own section of the court. Players cannot step on the lines or move into another section. They must pass the ball through the air using only their hands. You cannot hold the ball for more than two seconds at a time.

Ringball has a long history that began in 1907. It grew from a game called basketball. In 2007, the sport officially changed its name to ringball. Later, in 2010, the International Ringball Federation was formed. This group helps make ringball an international sport for everyone. The game has been around for over one hundred years. It continues to grow and reach new countries every year.

The game is played on a court that is 27 meters long. There are two goalposts at each end of the court. Each post has a metal ring that is 450mm wide. The ring sits exactly 3 meters above the ground. To score, a player must throw the ball through the ring from above. Each successful goal or penalty goal is worth two points. A match has two halves that are 25 minutes each.

Ringball is a lot like other ball games you might know. It is similar to netball and korfball in many ways. Instead of a basket, players aim for a metal ring. Instead of running with the ball, players must pass it quickly. It requires quick thinking and very steady hands. You can play it on grass, gravel, or indoor courts. It is a great way to practice being fast and accurate.
