Many thinkers still used the work of Aristotle. He was a famous writer from long ago. People studied his books to learn about logic and morals. They also used his ideas to talk about the soul.

But the Renaissance also brought new sources. People found many books by Plato. Marsilio Ficino helped translate Plato's works in 1484. This made Plato's ideas very popular again. Some thinkers tried to mix Plato's ideas with Aristotle's ideas. They also tried to mix them with Christian beliefs.

Some people wanted to change how philosophy was taught. They did not like using hard or technical words. They wanted to use beautiful language instead. They thought philosophy should help people live good lives.

Thinkers like Erasmus helped spread these new ways of thinking. They wanted more people to read these big ideas. Some even began to write in common languages. This helped ideas reach many more people.
