Rebekah Brooks is a leader for many newspapers. She was born in 1968 in Warrington. As a young girl, she wanted to be a journalist. She even helped out at a local paper by making tea.

Brooks had a very successful career. She was the first female editor of The Sun. She was also the youngest editor at News of the World. In 2015, she became the CEO of News UK. This means she is the top boss for that company.

She faced a big problem called a phone hacking scandal. This was a time when people at her paper did wrong things. They listened to private voicemail messages to get news stories. Many people were very angry about this. They felt the news paper had hurt people.

Brooks went to a criminal trial in 2014. A jury looked at the facts. They found her not guilty of the charges. She said she felt sorry for the hurt that happened. She still works in the news business today.
