Plants need to move pollen to make seeds.

Pollen is a tiny powder. It moves from a part called the anther to the stigma. This step lets the plant make seeds.

Many living things help move this pollen. We call these helpers pollinators. Most pollinators are insects like bees, beetles, and butterflies. Some are birds or bats. Even wind and water can carry pollen.

Some flowers use special ways to attract helpers. They might have bright colors or strong smells. For example, birds like red flowers. Some flowers bloom at night and smell strong to attract bats. Some bees even use a trick called buzz pollination. They vibrate their bodies to shake the pollen loose.

Once pollen lands on a flower, it starts to grow. It makes a long pollen tube. This tube grows down into the plant. It reaches an egg to start the making of a seed. This is a very important way for life to grow.
