Groups use rules to work well. These rules are called organic laws. They form the base for a government or a group.

In France, these laws are very special. They are more important than ordinary laws. They follow a strict set of steps. A group called the Constitutional Council must check them. These laws help the state plan its budget. They also help set the rules for elections. Using these laws means the main constitution does not change as often.

In Spain, organic laws sit in the middle. They are between ordinary laws and the constitution. A large group of leaders must pass them. These laws protect the basic rights of people. They also help different regions in Spain run themselves.

In Hong Kong, the Basic Law is the organic law. It helps the area follow the rules of China. It explains how the local government works. It also lists the rights of the people living there.

In the United States, some famous papers are organic laws. The U.S. Constitution is one. The Declaration of Independence is another. The Articles of Confederation is also on the list.
