He was a doctor and a teacher. He taught many subjects at a school in Copenhagen. He even worked as a doctor for King Christian IV.

Ole loved to collect things. He built a large collection called the Museum Wormianum. It held many items like plants, animals, and minerals. He also kept fossils and objects made by people. He used these items to teach his students.

Ole was very good at finding the truth about nature. Some people thought unicorns were real. Ole proved they were not. He found that people were actually seeing narwhal horns. He also showed that lemmings were real animals. He proved they were not just made from the air.

He studied old runestones, too. These are stones with very old writing on them. He wrote books about these stones. He also studied how babies grow. Small bones in the skull are named after him. These are called Wormian bones. Ole stayed in his city to help sick people during a plague. Sadly, he died from the illness in 1654.
