Nose

life science Maturity 11-13 Next article →

Your nose is a busy tool. It helps you breathe and smell.

The nose has a part on your face. It also has a nasal cavity inside your head. This cavity is a hollow space.

Your nose protects your lungs. Tiny hairs in your nostrils catch dust and smoke. This acts as a filter. Your nose also makes mucus. This is a wet substance that adds moisture to the air. Small tubes called capillaries help warm the air too. This keeps the air at the right temperature for your body.
