In Buddhism, some people believe in a special form called the Nirmāṇakāya. This is how a Buddha shows up in our world. It is a physical form in time and space.

One famous example is Siddhartha Gautama. He was a real person who lived in India. He lived about 2,500 years ago. This form can also be like a magic trick. The Buddha can make many bodies at once. These bodies can fill up the whole sky. Some thinkers say these forms are like a magical illusion. They might not have a real material base.

In Tibetan Buddhism, these forms appear to help all living beings. They appear in ways that people can understand. Some forms are called Supreme nirmanakayas. They can look like gods or even animals like lions. They can also appear as kings.

Other forms are called Diverse nirmanakayas. These can take many shapes to help people. Some might look like living things. Others might look like objects. A Buddha could appear as a mountain or a bridge. They can even teach using smells or dreams. This is a way to help others in many ways.
