Nazism was a far-right political system used in Germany.

It is also called National Socialism. This ideology focused on the idea of a master race. The Nazis believed that ethnic Germans and Nordic Aryans were superior. They wanted to create a single, pure German society. To do this, they tried to remove anyone they called "inferior." This included many different groups of people.

This system was very different from a democracy. Instead of voting, the country followed one strong leader.

The Nazi way of life worked through total control. They used special groups to help them stay in power. One group was called the SA, and another was the SS.

These were paramilitary organizations, which means they were organized like armies. The Nazis also used laws to take away people's rights. They used the Reichstag Fire Decree and the Enabling Act to do this. These laws helped them turn Germany into a one-party state. This process was known as Gleichschaltung, or Nazification. It meant that every part of life was controlled by the party.

This movement began with a smaller group of people. In 1919, a group called the German Workers' Party was formed. In 1920, they changed their name to the National Socialist German Workers' Party.

They did this to attract both workers and nationalists. Adolf Hitler became a very important leader in this party. He wrote a book called "Mein Kampf" to explain his ideas. In it, he spoke about his dislike for democracy. He also wrote about his plans to expand German lands into Eastern Europe.

History shows how the Nazis gained control of the government. By the year 1932, the Nazi Party was the largest in the German parliament. However, they did not have a majority of the votes. In January 1933, President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Hitler as Chancellor.

Later that year, Hitler became a dictator. He took the title of Führer to show he had total power. During this time, the Nazis targeted many people. They imprisoned or murdered Jewish people and political opponents. This led to the Holocaust, a genocide that killed millions during World War II.

Today, people remember this time as a very dark period. The world now sees Nazi ideology as evil because of the harm it caused. After Germany was defeated in the war, the truth about the Holocaust was discovered. Many countries now have laws against using Nazi symbols. For example, it is illegal to use them in Germany or Austria. Some small groups still follow these ideas, and they are called neo-Nazis. Most people work to ensure such unfairness never happens again.
