His journey began a long time ago in a small village. He was born on July 13, 1892. His home was Elembet'evo in the Bashkiria region. His father was a school teacher. The family had twelve children to support. Because they were poor, Mirsaid had to work hard. He studied at his father's school from age 8 to 15. He learned many subjects like math, history, and geography. He also learned Arabic and the Quran.

As a leader, Sultan-Galiev had very specific beliefs. He thought the world was divided into two different camps. One camp was the "Metropolitans" who held much of the power. The other camp was the people who were being treated unfairly. He believed that a revolution should help these groups work together. He thought this would stop powerful lands from taking resources from others. He wanted to protect the people living in colonies and conquered lands.

His ideas eventually led to a very difficult time for him. The leaders of the Communist Party did not agree with him. They saw his ideas as a threat to their own rules. Because of this, he was arrested in 1923. He was also expelled from the Communist Party at that time. He was arrested again in 1928 and stayed in prison for six years. Finally, he was arrested in 1937. He died in 1940 during the period when Joseph Stalin was in power.
