Some people say she was a goddess of war. But she focused on smart plans. She was not a goddess of violence. An owl is her special animal. The owl represents her wisdom and knowledge.

Romans also linked her to the Greek goddess Athena. One myth says Minerva was born from the head of Jupiter. In another story, she had a contest with Neptune. They fought to see who would name a city. Minerva won by making an olive tree. This tree became a symbol for the people.
