Michael Jackson was a famous writer from England. He spent his life studying drinks like beer and malt whisky. He did not just taste them. He looked at how they were part of different cultures. He wanted people to understand the history behind each drink. His work helped many people find a new interest in brewing. This was especially true in the United States during the 1970s.

Jackson had a very specific way of working. He traveled to many countries to see how people made drinks. In his TV series, The Beer Hunter, he visited different lands. He showed things like workers lining beer barrels with pitch. He also showed workers in hot iron foundries drinking light beer. He even created his own special beer glasses. He worked with Rizenhoff Crystal to make a set of four glasses. Each glass was made for a different type of beer.
