Sometimes, money goes through hard times. In 1982, the peso lost much of its value. This was called devaluation. It made things hard for many families. In 1993, the government made a "new peso." This helped fix the math for the money. One new peso was worth 1,000 old pesos. In 1994, another crisis happened. This made the peso's value change very fast. The peso is still very important today. It is the most traded money in Latin America.
