Master of Puppets is a famous heavy metal album. The band Metallica made it in 1986. It is known for its fast and powerful music.

The songs are complex and tell deep stories. Some songs talk about war or how people use power. One song, "Disposable Heroes," is about a young soldier. Another song, "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," is based on a book. The music sounds very heavy and thick. This album helped make the thrash metal scene very big.

The album cover is very striking. It shows white crosses in a field. Large hands move the crosses with strings. The sky behind them is a dark red. This art shows how people can be controlled.

This was the last album with bassist Cliff Burton. He was a very important member of the band. Sadly, he died in a bus accident during a tour. The band went home to find a new player. Many people call this one of the best metal albums ever. In 2015, the Library of Congress chose it for special care. They want to keep it safe for history.
