She was a master of color and shape. Her work helped change how animated movies looked. She used bold colors that were sometimes unnatural for a scene. This style brought a new kind of modern art to Disney. Many people still love her unique way of seeing the world. Her art made many stories feel magical and bright.

Blair used many different ways to share her art. She worked as an animator and a concept artist. A concept artist draws the first ideas for a movie. She also worked as a colorist to choose the right tones. Sometimes she used patterns from quilts to inspire her designs. She even made large murals out of colorful tiles. These decorations could be found in hotels or doctor offices.

Her career began in the early 1930s. She studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. She graduated from that school in 1933. After college, she married an artist named Lee Everett Blair. They both became members of the California School of Watercolor. She worked at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer before joining Disney in 1940. Later, she traveled to South America on a research tour. This trip helped her learn about new scenery and people.

Blair worked on many famous Disney films. She helped with the colors for Cinderella in 1950. She also worked on Alice in Wonderland in 1951. Her art helped shape the movie Peter Pan in 1953. She was a key part of the It's a Small World ride. This ride started at the 1964 New York World's Fair. It is now in Disney parks all over the world. In 1991, she was named a Disney Legend.

Her legacy lives on in many places today. You can see her influence in many modern designs. A Google Doodle honored her 100th birthday in 2011. A colorful mural of her stands in McAlester, Oklahoma. There is even a tiny version of her in a ride. She is shown as a girl holding a balloon. Her books, like I Can Fly, are still read by children. Artists still look at her work to learn about color.
