This makes the superhero worlds feel much closer to our own.

Creating these stories involves many different talented people. Writers and artists work together to build new worlds. In the early days, a man named Martin Goodman started the company. He worked out of an office on West 42nd Street in New York City. He had many different companies working together in that same space. Some people helped by drawing the pictures, while others wrote the words. Even the way books were sold changed how many stories they could make. This helped the company grow into the giant it is today.

Marvel has a very long and changing history. It began in 1939 under the name Timely Publications.

At that time, the company released characters like the Human Torch and Namor the Sub-Mariner. Later, the company was known as Atlas Comics. During the Atlas years, the company made many different kinds of books. They made stories about Westerns, horror, and even talking animals. By August 1961, a new era began with the launch of The Fantastic Four.

Marvel stories are special because the heroes are not perfect. In the past, most heroes were very simple and never argued. But the new Marvel heroes often had big feelings and small problems. The Fantastic Four were famous because they would bicker and hold grudges.
