You can watch many things through a stream. People use it for video games and professional sports. Some people even use it for lifecasting. This means they broadcast their daily life to an audience. It lets viewers see a person's normal routine.

How does it work for the people watching? Most streams have chat rooms. These rooms let viewers talk to the streamer. You can also join conversations with other people. Many rooms use emojis to show feelings.

These are small pictures used for communication. Some platforms also use algorithms. An algorithm is a system that suggests content. It helps show you things you might like. This makes finding new streams much easier.

Many people helped make this technology popular. Justin Kan is an entrepreneur who helped lifecasting go mainstream. He started a site called Justin.tv. He used it to broadcast his own life 24/7. This site later became Twitch. Twitch is now owned by Amazon. It focuses on video games and esports. Other sites like Bigo Live were also made. David Li and Jason Hu founded Bigo in 2014.

It may grow from $17 billion in 2022 to $55 billion by 2026. Twitch is a leader in gaming. It has nearly two hundred million viewers. The International 2017 was a big Dota 2 event. It had over five million people watching at once. Games Done Quick has raised over $10 million for charity.

Live streaming connects to many things you know. It is like watching a live game on TV. But you can talk back to the players. It is also like shopping in a store. In live stream commerce, sellers show products to you. This helps people decide what to buy. Even the NFL uses streaming for football games. Amazon has a huge deal to stream these games. This makes it easy for younger fans to watch. It brings the world closer together through a screen.
