The goal is to fix how light enters the eye. This helps people with blurry vision.

First, the doctor must study the eye. They use a tool called a topographer. This machine makes a map of the eye's surface. The doctor also checks how thick the cornea is. The cornea is the clear part on the front of the eye. This step makes sure the patient is ready for surgery.

Next, the surgeon makes a tiny flap on the cornea. They use a special tool or a laser. They fold the flap back to show the tissue underneath. Then, they use an excimer laser. This is a laser that can reshape the tissue very precisely. The laser removes tiny amounts of tissue to change the eye's shape.

Finally, the doctor puts the flap back in place. It acts like a natural bandage. It stays in place without any stitches. Most people can go back to normal life in a day or two.
