Lady Trieu was a brave female warrior from Vietnam. She lived during the 3rd century AD. At that time, a group called the Eastern Wu dynasty ruled her land. Many people in the Jiaozhi and Jiuzhen districts felt this rule was unfair. They wanted to be free from foreign control. Lady Trieu became a symbol of this fight for independence.

Lady Trieu was known for her incredible strength and spirit. Some stories say she had a very powerful voice. Others say she could walk 500 leagues in a single day. When she went into battle, she often rode a large war elephant. She was known to wear bright yellow tunics. She even had a special name, the Lady General clad in Golden Robe.

Her rebellion began around the year 248 AD. She gathered many followers to fight against the Wu rulers. Some records say she led one hundred chieftains and fifty thousand families. Lady Trieu famously said she did not want to be a slave. She wanted to ride the wind and the waves. She even said she wanted to slay big whales in the sea.

Fighting lasted for several months against the Wu forces. An official named Lu Yin was sent to stop the rebellion. He used his troops to fight against Lady Trieu's group. Eventually, the rebellion was defeated and Lady Trieu died. Despite this loss, her story was not forgotten by the people. She became a legendary figure in Vietnamese history.

Today, Lady Trieu is remembered as a great hero. In the 11th century, the Ly dynasty gave her special titles. People built a temple to honor her in Thanh Hoa province. You can find many streets named after her in big cities. These cities include Hue, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. Her story still inspires people who value freedom.
