The airline works by moving passengers and goods through the sky. It uses many different types of large planes to do this. For example, it uses the Boeing 747 for long trips across the Pacific Ocean.

It also uses the Airbus A380, which is a very large plane. The airline has many hubs, which are main centers for its flights. Incheon International Airport is its main international hub.

It also uses airports in Jeju and Busan. These hubs help the airline connect many different places.

The history of the airline started a long time ago. In 1946, a group called Korean National Airlines was founded. Later, the government of South Korea took over and changed its name.

On March 1, 1969, the Hanjin Group bought the airline. This was the official start of Korean Air as we know it today. In 1971, they began moving heavy freight across the Pacific Ocean. By 1972, they started flying passengers to Los Angeles.

The airline has been growing and changing for many decades.

In the past, the airline faced some very hard jobs. Around 1999, it had a poor safety record with many accidents.

This made the airline's reputation quite bad for a while. To fix this, the company invested billions of dollars into safety. They hired experts from Boeing and Delta Air Lines to help them.

They also bought new planes and better technology. By 2009, the airline's reputation had improved a lot. Now, it is seen as one of the best airlines in the world.

You might recognize Korean Air from its many different looks. In 1984, it introduced a new look with a blue and silver design.
