The weather changes with the seasons. During the monsoon, heavy rain falls from June to September. The rivers can overflow and cause big floods. This covers much of the park in water. When this happens, animals move to higher ground to stay safe. The park was first made a reserve in 1905. A woman named Mary Curzon helped start the movement to protect it. Today, it is a famous place to see many animals.
