You start by standing straight. Then, you jump your legs out wide. At the same time, you swing your arms up high. Some people clap their hands overhead. Next, you jump back to the start. Your feet go together and your arms go down.

People call these star jumps too. The name comes from a toy called a jumping jack. That toy moves its arms and legs when you pull strings. There are many ways to do this move. You can do power jacks by landing in a wide squat. You can do half jacks by only lifting your arms halfway. Some people do star jumps to leap very high in the air.

People like to test their skill. In 2023, Binod Thapa did 136 jacks in one minute. He did this in Nepal. In 2010, a big event helped many people move. Over 300,000 people did jumping jacks in one day!
