It is a special school where people study how to dance, act, and play music. The school has three main parts called divisions. These divisions are dance, drama, and music. The music division is the oldest and the largest of them all. Students work very hard to be part of this community. Many go on to become world-class performers and leaders in orchestras.

Juilliard is known for having very high standards. It has one of the lowest acceptance rates in the United States. This means it is very hard to get in. There are about 950 students enrolled at the school. Even though it is hard to get in, most students attend if they are accepted. The school has helped many people win the biggest awards in art. Its alumni have won 105 Grammy Awards for music. They have also won 62 Tony Awards and 47 Emmy Awards.
