Many people do different jobs in news. A reporter is a common type of journalist. They research and write about events. They might talk to people in interviews. Some reporters work in a newsroom. Others work outside to see events happen. Some journalists focus on one topic. We call this a beat.

Journalism can be a dangerous job. Reporters often go to places with fighting. They may face threats or even harm. Since 1992, over 2,000 journalists have died.

Many countries are very unsafe for them. Some journalists are even put in jail.

Because of these risks, people build memorials. A new memorial will honor those who died. This helps us remember their brave work.
