Jinzhou is an ancient city with over a thousand years of history. It was originally known as Tuhe. During the Warring States period, it was part of Yan. Under the Qin dynasty, it became part of Liaodong Commandery. In the Tang dynasty, it served as the seat of the Andong Protectorate. The name "Jinzhou" first appeared during the Liao dynasty. Mount Bijia is a famous island in the Bohai Sea. It is home to a Chinese Buddhist temple. The mountain looks like a giant pen holder. This is because of a tall stone pavilion on top. When the tide is low, a natural causeway appears. This path is called the Sky Bridge, or Tian Qiao. People can walk from the seafront to the island at this time.
