Jinheung wanted to make his land much bigger. In 551, he made a deal with the Baekje kingdom. They worked together to attack a place called Goguryeo. They won land near the Han River. At first, they agreed to split the land. But later, Silla took more of the area. Jinheung also sent a general to win land from Daegaya in 561.

To mark his wins, he built a stone monument. This is called a stele. He also started a group called the Hwarang. This group helped later leaders join the kingdoms together. Jinheung ruled for 37 years. He died in 576. His son, King Jinji, became the next ruler. People in Korea still remember him as a great leader.
