The ISU makes sure all the rules are the same for everyone. This helps skaters compete in big events like the Winter Olympic Games. The group is now based in Lausanne, Switzerland. They use English as their official language. Many countries from all over the world belong to the ISU. These members come from Africa, Asia, Europe, and more. In 2019, new members joined from Chile, Peru, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam. The ISU even helps decide how to judge the skaters. They use points to show how well a skater did. This makes the sport fair for everyone.
