One bite has enough venom to kill more than 100 men.

For a long time, this snake was a mystery. Scientists first described it in 1879. Then, they did not find any more for 90 years. They finally found living snakes again in 1972. Even though its venom is deadly, the snake is usually shy. It is a reclusive animal that likes to hide. It prefers to escape from trouble. However, it will strike if it is hurt or prevented from leaving. When it does strike, it is very fast and accurate. It can even strike many times in one attack.
