Indris are known for their loud songs. These songs can last for over three minutes. They use these songs to talk to other groups. The songs help them mark their home. They might sing to warn others about predators.

These animals live in small family groups. A mother, a father, and their young live together. The females are the leaders of the group. They often lead the family through the trees. They also get to eat the best food first.

Indris are herbivorous, which means they eat plants. They like to eat young leaves, seeds, and fruit. They use their hands to pull branches closer.

It is hard for indris to survive today. They are listed as critically endangered. This means they are at risk of dying out. People are cutting down the forests they need. They also hunt them in some places. We must work to save their forest homes.
