Powerful leaders helped him do his work. They built him a special place called an observatory. This place had tools to help him see the sky. He used these tools to make math tables. One big book was called al-Zij al-Kabir al-Hakimi. These tables helped people track the stars and planets. They were so accurate that people used them for calendars.

Ibn Yunus was also great at trigonometry. This is a type of math used to study shapes and angles. He found ways to make hard math problems much easier to solve. His math was very precise. His numbers were correct up to seven decimal places. This shows how much he cared about small details. Today, we honor him with a crater on the moon.
