It is called the Almagest. This book is about how stars and planets move.

Ptolemy wrote it in Greek a long time ago. He believed in a geocentric model. This is a way of seeing the world where Earth stays still at the center. He thought the stars and planets moved around the Earth.

This idea was used for over 1,200 years.

The book has thirteen parts called books. It explains many things about space. It tells us about the Sun and the Moon. It also explains how eclipses happen. Ptolemy made a list of 1,022 stars.

He put these stars into 48 groups. We call these groups constellations. He gave each star a place using numbers. These numbers show where the stars sit in the sky. Some stars in his list were hard to see. He called those "unformed" stars. His work helped people study the sky for a very long time.
