Adults might like satire. Satire uses wit to talk about social issues. Some people think humour is a gift from God. Other thinkers say it is a mystery. One idea is the benign-violation theory. This says humour happens when something feels wrong but is actually safe.

Humour also helps us make friends. It can make social times feel less awkward. In some cultures, it is a way to show skill. In ancient India, actors used emotions to create humour. In Arabic culture, some say God loves playful people.
