It sits on your neck. Seven bones in your neck help support it. The head has a fleshy outer part. Inside, a bony skull protects your brain. There are 22 bones in the human head.

Your face is the front part of your head. It has your eyes, nose, and mouth. Your ears sit on both sides. The head holds many sensory organs. These are parts that help you sense the world. They include your eyes, ears, nose, and tongue. These organs send info to your brain. This helps you process things quickly.

Blood travels to your head through arteries. These are tubes that carry blood. Some arteries go inside the skull. Others go to the area outside. Nerves also help the head work. The facial nerve helps you smile. The trigeminal nerve helps you feel things on your face.
