It looks a lot like a Persian cat. It has long, thick fur. This fur covers its body, tail, and even its toes. People made this breed by mixing Persian cats with Siamese cats. This mix gave them their unique look.

Himalayan cats have very specific features. Their heads are round and large. They have a snubbed nose, which means it is pushed in.

Different groups of people see this cat in different ways. Some groups call it a separate breed. Other groups say it is just a type of Persian. There are many colors for these cats. However, they cannot be mink or sepia colors. Some Himalayans are famous. One cat named Colonel Meow even held a world record for having the longest fur.
