There are two main types of Burmese cats. The European type has a slender body. It has a wedge-shaped head and long legs. The American type is more stocky. It has a broad head and round eyes. Both types have very short, shiny fur. Their eyes are either green or gold.

Burmese cats are very social. They love to be with people. They act a bit like puppies. They may even learn to play fetch. They are also very vocal. This means they like to talk to you. They have soft and sweet voices. Because they love people so much, they do not like to be alone for a long time.
