His work is loved for its clear art and very detailed stories.

His drawing style is called ligne claire, which means "clear line." This style uses very clean and strong outlines for his characters and settings. To make his stories feel real, Hergé did a lot of research. He wanted the backgrounds and details to look just right. In 1934, his friend Zhang Chongren helped him focus on this research. This led to much more realism in stories like The Blue Lotus.

Hergé was accused of being a collaborator with the leaders. An official investigation was held, but no charges were brought against him. Later, in 1946, he helped start Tintin magazine with Raymond Leblanc. In 1950, he even formed a team called Studios Hergé to help with his big projects.

Today, Hergé's influence on comic books is still very strong. People enjoy his stories through movies, radio, and even computer games.

He even tried to become an abstract artist later in life.
