People remember her as a great woman of letters. She was a philosopher who wrote deeply about love and friendship. Her life and her ideas still matter to people today.

Her work often focused on the idea of intent. She believed that your reasons for doing something are what truly matter. For Héloïse, the spirit behind an action was more important than the deed itself.

She argued that a person's intent determines if an action is right or wrong. This way of thinking helped shape how later thinkers studied ethics. She also wrote about how women should be treated in society. She even helped create rules for women in a convent to meet their specific needs.
