These ants help the Earth. They move seeds to new places. This helps more plants grow. They also dig tunnels in the ground. These tunnels help the soil breathe. They mix the dirt as they work.

Living in dry places is hard. Ants can lose water in the heat. They get water by eating fats in seeds. This helps them stay alive. The weather also changes how they work. Most colonies forage more when it is humid. They like to work after it rains. Rain can wash seeds to the top of the soil. This makes it easy to find food.

Watch out for their sting! These ants have strong venom. They bite first. Then they sting with their abdomen. A sting can cause swelling and sharp pain for many hours.
