Ali could swallow many items. He swallowed nuts, colorful cloths, and even live goldfish. He once swallowed smoke to look like a volcano. His most famous trick used water and kerosene, which is a type of fuel. He would act like a human flamethrower. Then, he would use the water to put out the fire. People wanted to know if he used tricks. He often let audience members watch him up close. He even let people pat his stomach to hear nuts rattling inside.
