The Gothic Bible is a very old holy book. It was written in the Gothic language. This language was used by the Goths. They lived in parts of Europe long ago.

For a long time, people thought Wulfila made this book. He was a bishop in the fourth century. He may have made the Gothic alphabet. Many scholars now think a team of people made it. They worked together to translate the text.

We do not have the whole book today. We only have small pieces. Some pieces are in books called codices. One famous piece is the Codex Argenteus. It is kept in a place called Uppsala. We also have pieces on thin lead plates. These plates are very small. These old texts are very important. They are some of the first books in a Germanic language. They help us study how people spoke in the past.
