Goblins are small creatures from old stories.

Many people believe they are naughty. Some stories say they are mean. They might play pranks or do bad things.

Goblins are often described as very small. Some say they are only 30 cm tall. They might have furry skin or leathery skin. Some can even change their shape. Many believe they live in dark caves or in homes.

In some lands, they are helpful. In English stories, brownies are kind spirits. They do chores like cleaning at night. You can leave them milk to be kind. But if you give them clothes, they might leave.

Other stories show different kinds. In Korea, dokkaebi are tricksters. They can come from old tools like brooms. They might play games with people. In America, the Wampanoag people tell of pukwudgies. These are small beings in the forest.

Goblins are also in new books. In the Harry Potter books, they are skilled workers. They can be bankers or makers of things.
