This style lets people seek adventure in nature. They can still use modern things like Wi-Fi. Some people stay in cozy cabins or treehouses. Others sleep in large, designer tents with soft sheets. This is much better than using sweaty sleeping bags. It offers a mix of nature and comfort.

Setting up a glamping trip works in many ways. Some people use semi-permanent structures like yurts. These can be set up on gravel paths.

Other people choose to stay in bell tents. These tents are often outfitted with nice furniture. This style can even be good for the earth. It can reduce waste from unpacking tents too often. It helps keep the environment cleaner than traditional camping.

People have lived in fancy tents for many centuries. In the 16th century, the Earl of Atholl did this. He prepared a lavish experience for King James V. He used tents that felt like a palace.

The Ottoman armies also used very grand tents. Teams of artisans traveled with them to help. They worked to build and maintain these imperial tents. Later, in the 1920s, wealthy travelers went on African safaris. They brought electric generators and folding baths with them.

Glamping is a very popular trend in our world today. The word first appeared in the United Kingdom in 2005. It was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2016. In 2011, CNN said it was popular in many lands. It is big in the United States and Europe. It is also a hit in Australia. Since 2020, interest has grown even more. This is because it allows for social distancing. It is a great way to enjoy the fresh air.
