In civil law, fraud is often called a tort. This means a person or a group can sue to stop the fraud. They might seek money to pay for the harm caused. Sometimes a court can reverse a bad agreement, which is called rescission. Proving fraud in court is a very hard job. This is because lawyers must prove the person intended to deceive. Some places require very clear and convincing evidence to prove it.
