The tribes of the Flathead Nation live here. These are the Salish, Kootenai, and Pend d'Oreille tribes. They have lived in Montana for a very long time.

Nature is very important to this place. Grizzly bears live in the hills. Many other animals like elk and bison live there too. The tribes work hard to protect the land and the animals. They even manage a dam to make power.

This dam is called the Seli'š Ksanka Ql'ispé Dam. It is the first dam owned by a tribe. The tribes also manage water for farms. They use many tools to keep the water and the fish healthy. This helps the land stay strong for the future.
