Fan fiction

arts Maturity 11-13 Next article →

Do you love a good story? Some people like to write their own versions. This is called fan fiction. Fans write these stories on their own. They use characters from books or shows. They use worlds that already exist.

Most fan fiction is made by fans. These writers are amateurs. This means they do it for fun. They do not get paid to write. They do not ask for permission first.

Many fans share their work online. They use sites like FanFiction.Net. This helps them find other fans.

Some stories are a bit different. A writer named Brent Spiner wrote a book. It is a fictionalized memoir. This is a story based on true events. Some people call other types of stories pastiche. This is when a pro writes a new story based on an old one.

"Fan Fiction" is also a name for some TV shows. One is a season 10 episode of Supernatural. Another is an episode of Only Murders in the Building. There is also a song by Bug Hunter. A Polish film from 2023 is called Fanfic.
