The shows used loud, modern music for entrances. Performers walked out to songs by bands like Metallica and Pearl Jam. They also used hip-hop music by artists like Dr. Dre. This made the atmosphere feel very intense. It was a very loud and exciting experience.

This group has a very interesting history. It began in 1992 as Eastern Championship Wrestling. A man named Tod Gordon started the company. In 1993, a businessman named Paul Heyman took over the creative ideas. He was also known as Paul E. Dangerously.

In 1994, the group made a big change. A wrestler named Shane Douglas won a big tournament. He threw down his old championship belt on purpose. This helped the group become its own independent brand. This moment was the true start of ECW.

ECW grew very fast during the 1990s. It became the third major wrestling group in the United States. It competed against big names like the WWF and WCW.

Even though ECW was famous for its own style, it shared many things. It helped bring different wrestling styles to American fans. For example, it showed lucha libre from Mexico. It also showed puroresu from Japan.
