Everything means all that exists. It is the opposite of nothing.

Some people use the word universe for everything. The universe includes all time and space. It also includes all matter and energy. It includes the laws that rule them. Some thinkers believe in a multiverse. This means there are many different universes. One idea is called bubble universe theory. This says many universes exist with different rules. Another idea is the many-worlds hypothesis. In this idea, new universes form during quantum measurements. These would still be part of everything.

Scientists look for a theory of everything. This is a way to explain all things. They want one model to link all natural forces. This is hard to do. It is hard to join quantum mechanics with relativity. Some physicists think M-theory might be the answer. M-theory uses 11 dimensions to explain things. Other thinkers do not agree.

Philosophers also think about this big idea. They ask why reality can be understood. They wonder why nature has its laws. They even ask why anything exists at all.
